PRESERVATION

The contents published in PURIQ are registered in the institution's own web servers (www.revistas.unah.edu.pe).

However, we take into account that it is essential to have greater security for the safeguarding of our contents, so we have three means to preserve our publications:

  • External storage: Each publication we store the new articles published in external hard disks.
  • Legal preservation: According to Peruvian legislation: Law N-26905, Supreme Decree N-017-98-ED and amendments Law N-28377, Law N-29165 and Law N-30447. PURIQ journal makes legal deposit of its volumes and issues published in the National Library of Peru according to law.
  • Digital preservation:
    • LOCKSS
Open Journal Systems is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal a permanent and safe archive. LOCKSS is an open source program developed by the Stanford University Library that allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself.
LOCKSS stores and distributes content from the Puriq Research Journal to collaborating libraries through a LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto page.
    • CLOCKSS
Open Journal Systems also supports CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) to ensure a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and archiving it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal are used to restore it.
CLOCKSS stores and distributes Puriq Research Journal content to participating libraries through the CLOCKSS Publisher Manifest page.
